i surprised myself with this one...i got so addicted i stayed up late just to finish it o.o;;; ...which prolly was a *bad* idea since im sick haha oh well...anyways...this was done completely in photoshop with my wacom <3......WACK EM! ...haha...silly tracy...anyways...enough of my tired ramblings that mean nothing...i really like how this turned out...im sure i could fix some things but hey...not bad for a first time trying something like this eh..?? EH?!?!?! ....*collapse*

i made her spikey things brighter to add more contrast....i also added some stuff to make it look more like the spikes were growing out of him and such...k...nap time

I think you need to up the contrast even more - the purple on purple hides the effect of the spiky beast. Now, if Charles is purple you'd want a background colour that shows him off nicely and adds a little dynamicism.
Orange might be a little extreme, but some soft, varying creams and browns contrast very well with purple and could make a nice effect.
You've got excellent perception of depth and form and really show them off well - but don't be afraid to make large, bold strokes!
